The ‘Gbekui’ composer explained in an interview monitored by ghanafoxmusic.com on why Ghanaian authorities should legalize the usage of marijuana.“I think the government should legalize it. It is legalized in many countries.
A prominent person like the late Kofi Annan added his voice to it, he said it should be decriminalized,” he stated.
“Throwing light on the enormous health benefits if marijuana, JJ Gonami indicated that cannabis oil had been reported to have cured or improved medical conditions such as depression, cancer, chronic pain and diabetes among others.“I will never condemn anyone using it because, in some countries, it is legalized,” the musician added.
“He said sales from marijuana would result in buoyant tax revenues which could run into billions of dollars when properly managed.“We will among others set up marijuana nurseries across the country to create more jobs for the teaming unemployed youth and also promote tremendous benefit to the Ghanaian economy,” he said..
Security agencies, he said would be well equipped to ensure the public complied strictly to the laws guiding the usage of marijuana in the country when it is finally legalised.A section of Ghanaian celebrities and over the time has called for the legalization of marijuana and it appears this call won’t end anytime soon.
